Established in 2012, Elcar Limited was founded with a simple goal: to create a safe working environment for our staff to produce components of the highest quality whilst offering our customers an exceptional level of service and technical support.

 

Since then the company has grown to be one of the largest producers of electric steering systems in the UK.

 

Like all electronic equipment, the development of electric steering is fast-paced. To meet this challenge, we have an ongoing investment strategy which brings together the latest diagnostic and testing equipment with innovative re-manufacturing processes. Our research and development (R&D) team work closely with our European partners, sharing information on programming allowing us to make units available for the latest models.

 

We understand the challenges for the garage when trying to identify vehicle problems. Using fault codes from diagnostic equipment does not always give a true indication of the problem. Our technical support department works closely with our R&D team to link fault codes to the source of the failure, ensuring the correct components are replaced.

 

Not all steering is electric so we have a highly experienced team of staff who are dedicated to working with hydraulic steering. As this is still a very important product to the company, we commit substantial resources to ensure its success.
